Baby Stuff!

I think it amazing how much more time I had to blog when I wasn't working full time. Just a thought had to get it out there.

This weekend has been pretty uneventful. We babysat for a little 7 month old on Friday night, Lillian, we have known her parents for a while (we met in VA) and we got the pleasure of spending the evening with her! It was fun and Adam loved it! He REALLY enjoys being around babies -Its cute! :)

We have been looking at SOO much baby stuff recently. I think I will soon start to dream about strollers and car seats and all that stuff! Adam wants to get neutral everything especially since he will be leaving soon after we find out the sex and we won't have much time to get gender specific stuff. I would rather find out the sex and get girl/boy colored things. He wants to everything put together before he leaves that way I won't be stuck having to build anything. One thing we do want to do is paint the room a pretty color in the week before he leaves-end of February. That will be our last big project.

I have been feeling really good! No complaints just tired and sleepy. I can't get enough orange juice and I am LOVING chips for some reason which I think means a boy. At first I REALLY thought it was a boy-now I am thinking it is a girl. I have done several Old Wives Tests and most of them say girl, but some say boy.

Adam is scheduled to leave the first week in March, and I will be 20 weeks the last week in February. The base does the gender ultrasound at 20 weeks EXACTLY. So, we have been looking at going to a 3d/4d ultrasound place on the side. I found one within 2 hours from us that guarantees the gender at 15 weeks-or else you can come back and get the ultrasound done again-for free. I am thinking we will do that the end of January at 16 and a half weeks! We are real excited especially since that will be almost a month earlier than we had planned.

I am hoping to go back to Texas in April to see everyone and for my Dad to do another ultrasound. :) We got a video of the baby moving around but it is on VHS when we went home over Christmas-I need to get it copied to DVD OR I will just video it on my camera and upload it to my computer! I JUST now thought about that! :) I will do that tonight! :) yay!

I found some SUPER cute maternity clothes at GAP Maternity online-so that is exciting. I can still wear most of my clothes-but I am afraid it might start getting tougher really soon and since I can't drive 20 minutes to get something, I need to be prepared just in case.

We have been trying to decide between using a jogging stroller for everyday use or getting a travel system AND a jogging stroller. I have learned that jogging strollers are pretty expensive and what if I HATE jogging with it, after I spent ALL this money on it? I read that you shouldn't jog with a baby less than 6 months old anyways-so maybe we will just wait. The ones we like are: Bumbleride, BoB, Zooper Boogie, Chicco, Britax. I read online that the Britax carseat is SOO big it won't fit in many regular sized vehicles! That is CRAZY! I have also been reading that soo many of them are really heavy, I am guessing that just comes with the territory though.

I will upload pictures soon! :)

Ok girl, If you have any questions, just ask me! We have a jogging stroller and a travel system, and a regular carseat now. Ha, its amazing how much the little ones need!

I would suggest getting a travel system with the lock in travel carseat. It is SUPER nice to just get them out of the car and clip them into the stroller and go.

The jogging strollers are nice, if you jog. They are way too big and cumbersome to use for everyday use (going shopping, etc), and there is no way they would fit in a car). We have a jeep and it fits into the back of the jeep, but takes up TONS of room!

I can't wait to find out what you are having so I can make you something!

Hey Krystal! I've read OJ means girl but salty foods means boy...hmm! Same here though lol. I found a jogging stroller WITH a clip on car seat for $200 on Babies R Us- and it's black/green so gender neutral! Plus it looks pretty compact when folded. A girlfriend of mine recommended that since she made the mistake of buying a regular stroller with car seat then turning around and buying a jogging stroller.
We've decided to get the major things (stroller, car seat, high chair, playpen, etc) gender neutral (black or brown with green) but the crib stuff and clothes we'll get boy/girl :-)
I go to Dr. tomorrow and I'm asking about a 4D at 15-16 weeks too! I hope she says yes!!
So how long is Adam gone for- and where is he going?? We found out Matt may be deploying around the time baby is due :-( Keep your fingers crossed that won't happen!!

Thanks Hannah! That is what Adam wants to do-Just get the travel system and then get a jogging stroller later on-when its more practical-I have been reading about alot of people who say they are too big to even fold over when they are done so they just leave them up in their garages-which is probably what I will do anyways. What travel system stroller did you get? I have been reading that some of the newer carseats have a problem fitting on the seats-even in SUV's!
Keeley- It's soo much stuff to get, huh? And yes Adam is going to Afghanistan in March and will be gone until Novemberish (you know they can't give you exact dates on ANYTHING!)So I might be going back to Texas for a little while-since I have that good job here I want to stay and work. but my mom will be staying here with me throughout the whole summer so that will be helpful

Oh that's awesome that it won't be for very long though!! If/When Matt goes it'll be 1yr min. :-( That's awesome your Mom is coming to stay with you!! My BFF from hs is going to come a few weeks before the baby comes but so far no one else can come (Germany IS a lil farther than California I guess lol). If Matt goes then I am for SURE coming back to TX- so that's my silver lining in the whole thing lol. Miss you!
